If it's your first time running, don't be surprised if you hate it to begin with. Your body will fight you running. Once your body starts getting used to it, the feeling after running is amazing! So, keep it up and don't feel discouraged if it didn't start well. Don't be ashamed if you can only run for a few seconds before having to walk. Just run your limit to begin with and you'll eventually start to run for longer periods. Take your time. Don't rush. If you feel self conscious (most first timers do), plan your route in a public place and run it during a time that is quieter. Most people either won't care or will admire your work. Just don't run anywhere too quiet and alone; don't put yourself in danger. I would actually advise you not to run 6 days a week. Cardio alone will not only burn your fat, but also your muscle. It's important you do exercises which work on your muscles. I'd recommend running three days a week and do muscle toning three days a week. The more you tone, the easier you will find the run. If you are overweight, running will be a lot harder for you, but you will also burn more calories than a thinner person. The more weight you lose, the easier the run and the less calories you will burn.

Have knee and spinal issues so running is a no go. Lifting weights burns more calories less wear and tear on legs Running is crap unless no health issues Walk and lift weights 3 stone off after spinal surgery so I know what I am on about
