Starchy food on this list that turns into sugar. But like everything - serving size is key. The servings size is so small on this starchy food you might as well leave them out. A tablespoon of rice and beans is not worth cooking or eating.

Diabetics shouldn't eat any fruit, except some berries, when trying to lower BS. Beans and Tomatoes contain lectins that cause a leaky gut, which causes obesity leading to diabetes. Really a worthless video for diabetics.

Whenever you see something approved by the "Association", you can second guess as to whether or not it is good for diabetics. And lots of this stuff may be good for heart health but it will send your blood sugar the roof. The title was click bait for sure.

This is pure bullshit. Apples for diabetics FFS. Read the research on the ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting. Find a doctor who is up to date and work with them to ease you off your meds on your road to full remission (T2D).

Alpha-linolenic acid from flaxseed is not efficiently converted to Omega-3 fatty acids by the human body. At best at about 25%, dropping rapidly to about 10% or less as you age. So you need to eat 4 to 10 times the amount of alpha-linolenic acid as you would fish oil to achieve your daily needs. Also flaxseeds contain Omega-6 fatty acids. Your body needs several times more Omega-3 fatty acids than Omega-6 for optimal health, the ratio of the fatty acids in yoiur diet is very important. Really you need fish oil or nuts to achieve this as seed oil sources have more Omega-6 oil than Omega-3.

I don't know what it is about people telling you that saturated fat is unhealthy and that you shouldn't eat it. It's absolute garbage. If you put butter in your hand it melts, yet, they tell you it will block your arteries. We are made of unsaturated fats. Our brains are almost entirely made from unsatuated fats, our liver too. Eat the stuff it's good for your brain.

Properly prepared Miso (great base for soups and rice blends), Tempeh and Natto (strong-smelling; if you like smelly cheeses, you may enjoy this) also Shoyu (soy sauce or tamari sauce--depending on fermentation process are more appropriate forms if you insist on consuming soy. So leave Edame alone and avoid eating soybeans as a milk, legume or lentil or as tofu or "bean curd". See a tasty looking tofu dish? Pass it up; the tofu will interfere with your absorption of the other nutrients (especially minerals) in that dish. Beware of studies on isolated components of soybeans instead of studies on the whole unprocessed soybean. Go in with eyes open and do your own due diligence; soy is a controversial food source and heavily driven by the soy industry (cha-ching! follow the money to smell the rat).
