Ships carry all sorts of cargo across the sea, but the trickiest of them all is large quantities of liquids. Waves in the sea translate into waves on board, and too much of this movement can compromise the stability of the ship. The solution is to divide the liquids in to smaller compartments, but why and how does this actually work?
