The Carbohydrate Tipping Point has three primary parameters, Amount of carb, type of carb and timing of carbs:

Amount of Carb

For fat loss, each person needs to find the right amount of carbs that will deliver sustained energy but not slow fat loss. This is different for everyone. We teach our clients to think in terms of bites since in today's fast pace society people often eat on the go and don't carry around gram scales. They also do not eat all of their foods out of boxes that contain labels with clearly marked grams of carbs. Using bites allows a quick and adjustable means to manipulate the amount of carbs. To us one bite is approximately the size of a tablespoon and equal to roughly 5g of carbohydrates. For beginner fat loss seekers we suggest no more than 10 bites of carbs eaten exclusively at each of the major meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner). This can then be adjusted up or down based on your fat loss results as well as your responses to hunger, cravings and energy. This is an individual process that needs to be approached with the mindset of a detective. Read more here:

The bites is an interesting concept. White rice and potato chips are a down fall. The timing of when to eat carbs is interesting especially at night to get a good night's sleep.

.I want to lower my A1C ( it's currently 5.8, pre-diabetic range ) I recently cut way down on my carb intake ..I was 165lbs 5'10", but after 1 month I lost 15 lbs......I have always enjoyed lifting and working out...my problem is I want to lower my A1C without losing more weight....I looked much better at 165.......how many carbs should I consume a day and what type, and still lower my A1C and maintain my weight...thanks

If you are fat you have insulin resistance, why would I want to eat cabs when I already have to much insulin in my blood?? This does not make sense. Carbohydrates are not even an essential nutrient so if I never ate another one I would be just fine. I do eat some broccoli and spinach for a little fiber. There are so many theories about what to do it will make you dizzy, plus it's hard for me to have a lot of trust in someone who has a associated product for sale...

Yess! This makes sense to me. I can clearly see some obvious tweaks to make. I was following a black and white prescription for nutrition but my feedback in regards to how it was working in terms of energy, cravings was ignored. I was told that i needed to be more disciplined.

Wow this is so true. I get really hungry at night. And i try so hard not to eat carbs. One night I was so hungry. And could not sleep for the past few days. Finally, I broke down and had a carb. Not a lot. But enough to shut up my hunger. It worked! I felt full and slept like a baby. Wow. I did this myself. But it’s nice to have the confirmation. Thank you.

I think you over complicate this. If someone has a very low fat diet, it's near impossible to gain fat due to carbs. Just eat till your full. That's why the fruitarian community is in such good shape. That's why when you go to places like rural Asia, Peru and Africa where they just eat rice or corn the whole time but very little else, they are all in good shape.Β
